About the Lab

ITERA Lab is a research collective founded by Lillian Chengtao Yuan and Jiamin Chen to investigate materials, environmental ecologies and the spatial systems through which they become entangled.

Working across architecture, landscape, drawing, modelling and moving image, the lab treats design as an iterative method of inquiry. Material is read as an active register of climate, labour, policy and memory.

Our projects move between the intimate and the territorial: from sensory atmospheres and domestic interruptions to communal settlement, coastal infrastructure and ecological adaptation. Each study contributes to an expanding, shared field of enquiry — one iteration informing the next.
